Google has systematically blocked or disapproved our videos and website advertising, repeatedly citing alleged violations such as “Clickbait,” “Election advertising in the United States,” “Restricted Access Video,” and other restrictions.
Interestingly enough, The Bot and The Brain is an openly conservative, Republican-leaning news and political satire publication. We are Trump supporters and strong supporters of the MAGA movement, and we make no apologies for our political beliefs.
Is that why Google keeps rejecting our advertising? We can't say for certain, but given the repeated restrictions, we're certainly beginning to wonder.
Since when does political satire become election advertising simply because someone doesn't like the opinions being expressed?
We publish political commentary, satire, and criticism based on publicly reported news. We aren't running political campaigns, promoting candidates through these advertisements, or deliberately misleading readers.
Apparently, having an opinion and a sense of humor is now suspicious enough to trigger Google's advertising police.
HERE IS OUR EXACT RESPONSE TO GOOGLE:
That is your allegation to justify disapproving the video. I bet nobody there took the time to check it before coming up with this.
We promote a news magazine focused on political satire. We don't encourage, direct, or redirect anyone toward anything. Our sources are clearly cited in each article, originally published by the AP, The New York Times, The Post, etc.
We use satire to express our opinions on such already verified and published articles.
NO PROMOTION of one side or another, NO POLITICAL CAMPAIGNING, and NO CLICKBAIT whatsoever!
The only violation here is Google's biased attitude, violating our First Amendment right to FREE SPEECH.
We haven't violated any law, policy, or regulation, AS STUPID AS IT MIGHT LOOK.
