Kim Jong Un Outsources His Regime's Funding to American WFH Gigs

F.B.I. Disrupts North Korean Identity Theft Rings Funding Pyongyang

Kim Jong Un Outsources His Regime's Funding to American WFH Gigs

The FBI, with the ever-present help of cybersecurity gurus like CrowdStrike, finally got around to disrupting what they’re calling “laptop farms.” Apparently, North Korean IT workers were posing as patriotic Americans – presumably with names like “Chadwick” and "Karen" – to snag cushy remote tech jobs, funneling their capitalist earnings straight back to Pyongyang. Because nothing says economic self-sufficiency like your glorious socialist nation getting its hard currency by ripping off American companies and stealing identities, right?

This is truly a testament to the modern globalized workforce. Who needs skilled American workers when you can have a state-sponsored hacker from a totalitarian regime contributing to your diversity metrics and building Kim Jong Un’s next ICBM? The irony is thicker than a Portland barista's artisanal oat milk latte. The same tech giants that preach about inclusivity and equity probably didn't run a deep background check beyond "can they code and do they agree with our latest social justice manifesto?" Apparently reality was unavailable for comment.

The outrage machine required feeding, and facts were apparently out of stock. It's almost too perfect: the virtue-signaling left, so busy worrying about pronouns, gets grifted by commies.

From a purely analytical perspective, this highlights a persistent vulnerability in remote hiring verification processes, exploited by state-sponsored actors. The financial impact, while currently mitigated, suggests a broader security concern for critical infrastructure and intellectual property. Meanwhile, the human element of this shitshow reminds us that it’s the oldest trick in the book, just with better internet. Empires fall because they get too comfortable, too distracted by internal squabbles, and too damn stupid to see the barbarians at the gates. Or, in this case, logged into their Slack channels. The Romans didn’t worry about unemployment benefits for Visigoths, but they probably should have worried about them getting access to the aqueduct schematics. History repeats, always. The only difference is now it’s digital, and the barbarians have better healthcare plans.

The FBI finally gets around to busting a few laptop farms. Good for them. But how many more are out there, quietly contributing to Kim Jong Un’s next missile test, all while drawing a salary from some woke tech company that wouldn't hire a white male engineer if their life depended on it? Maybe the real threat isn't foreign interference in our elections, but foreign interference in our payrolls. Or maybe we should just be grateful Kim Jong Un hasn't discovered LinkedIn yet.
